PARENTS…Are you looking for a summer experience for your daughter that will offer these things?

  • A safe, warm, loving atmosphere with the "feeling of family" due to small size.
  • A proven track record of excellent care, superb teaching and satisfied repeat customers for 36 years.
  • Continual accreditation from the American Camping Association for the past 25 years with scores of 96-100% in over 200 standards.
  • Seasoned, competent, caring and committed leadership team of camping and medical professionals. Some of our staff have been with us for as long as 32 years, 25 years and 15 years, with the founder still active after 36 years!
  • Second generation campers and staff who know and love camp so much they return year after year.
  • A carefully designed riding program to ensure safety while promoting successful learning and skill development.
  • Beautiful, clean, inviting living quarters which foster friendship and teach daily group living skills.
  • Fabulous string of 60 horses and ponies, chosen for safety, manners, training and suitability for riders who are just beginning up to those who actively compete.
  • An extensive riding facility including four rings, one large indoor arena, three outside courses, one round pen and miles of dirt roads and trails.
  • Swimming pool staffed by certified life guard.
  • Infirmary staffed by a Registered Nurse, who attended Pony Farm camp previously and whose daughter currently rides at Pony Farm.
  • Fabulous, healthy, home cooked meals, always with a vegetarian option. Lots of fresh baked yummies to go with local fruits and vegetables and herbs from our garden.
  • A full evening program that promotes creativity, teamwork, friendship and "good clean fun on the farm".

Goals of Pony Farm

At Pony Farm we believe that riding and horsemanship are not necessarily an end in themselves, but rather a means to a larger goal. Life experiences interwoven with animals, the beauty of the land, and a caring community of people can foster qualities and skills which are not ‘taught’ anywhere else.

Our program is designed to:

  • Provide a safe home away from home
  • Enhance the love of horses through the teaching of riding and stable management
  • Increase self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Encourage self growth
  • Promote a sense of achievement through skill mastery
  • Explore our responsibilities to care for other living things and the earth
  • Foster independence, healthy self-assertion, and resistance to negative forms of peer pressure
  • Enhance the ability to live as a contributing member of a group
  • Provide a respite from the pressure of school grades and growing up too fast
  • Enjoy our time together, coming away feeling refreshed and renewed!

We offer the gifts of love, care and time in a protected place. We hope that each person who leaves Pony Farm will do so with a renewed sense of hope for the world, a stronger sense of self, a deepened commitment to caring, and the confidence to be a positive influence in the world.
