Horse and Pony Sale Program

The family of horses and ponies who reside at Pony Farm is always changing, and our goal is to facilitate the best possible transitions for each horse, to and from their new homes. Our lesson, camp and therapeutic riding programs are ‘staffed’ by a large herd of capable horses and ponies, and we are often fine tuning the exact lineup in order to accommodate changing programs. Boarded horses come and go as well, so let us know your interests and needs for buying and selling. We may have the perfect fit. So, while we are NOT a sales barn, we do sometimes have horses for sale or retirement. Give us a call if you have a need.

Although we are not a ‘sale barn’, we do take suitable horses and ponies that a family wishes to sell during our active summer season. We accept horses anytime after May 1st. These horses must be sound, well mannered and need to be able to walk, trot and canter, as well as jump at least cross rails. We get them in good shape and then use them in our summer camp program. They receive excellent care and loads of TLC. Our campers are all good riders and can give your pony or horse some ‘mileage’ and exposure. Our staff also help ‘tune up’ the horses, making them better and better. If suitable, we also take them to local shows where they are announced as being for sale. The owners are welcome to place advertisements for their horse at their expense. We will show it to a perspective buyer.

Pony Farm does not charge anything for the board or training of these ‘sale’ horses. We also provide all tack and the shoeing, routine vetting and showing fees at our expense. The owner of the horse and the directors of Pony Farm discuss a suitable commission prior to finalizing the agreement. We reserve the right to return the pony or horse to its former owner if not sold by September 1st. Transportation is at the owner’s expense.

We always welcome back horses or ponies that we have sold once they are outgrown and will resell any pony or horse we have represented on consignment.
