Pony Farm Instructor Training School
The goal of the Pony Farm Instructor
Training School is to provide an intensive three-month experience which
combines classroom theory presentation with practical hands-on experience
leading to certification with the Certified Horsemanship Association.
CHA is the leading national body certifying riding instructors of group
lesson programs for riding schools, colleges, camps, ranches and parks.
The Pony Farm Instructor Training School will also serve as an employment
reference center, assisting candidates to secure employment in the growing
field of professional riding instruction. Certification with CHA will
also bring decreased liability insurance rates for qualified instructors.
Pony Farm's power packed residential
course will cover all the required texts with CHA, while also incorporating
information from NARHA, Centered Riding, Pony Club and driving. In
addition, extensive practice teaching, hands-on horsemanship, business
education and intensive riding will insure that each Instructor Training
Candidate (ITC) will complete the program armed for success. The core
curriculum is enhanced by specialty clinics conducted by nationally
recognized experts in related fields. Instructor candidates enjoy the
rich experience of these specialty clinics, as well as the day-to-day
activities of both our nationally accredited able-bodied riding and
therapeutic riding programs which operate side-by-side. Our lesson
programs serve 200 people of all ages, in partnership with 60 horses and
ponies and 50 Teaching Assistants. Learning from our
nationally-certified, experienced team of Instructors and drawing on our 34
year history of successful lesson programs, ITCs will come away with
invaluable credentials.
